Stephen Nasser sharing his message.

Stephen Nasser sharing his message.

Stephen “Pista” Nasser is a highly motivational speaker. He recovered from the ashes of the Holocaust, at age 13, the only survivor from a family of 21. He is an example of confidence, determination and the power of positive thinking. Stephen wrote a diary in the Auschwitz and Muhldorf concentration camps right under the noses of the Nazis. The diary became the book, My Brother’s Voice, now in its seventh printing.

He has lectured over 330 times to audiences totaling 60,000 people, often to standing ovations. He speaks to schools, universities, churches and organizations of all types and has appeared on cruise ships and on several television and radio programs and been featured in many newspapers and magazines. Stephen connects with his audiences of all ages and treasures the nearly 6,000 letters he’s received from attendees to his presentations.

Letters to the author from students:

Mr. Nasser,
Thank you for coming to Oak Creek School. When you talked to us it made me realize how much us kids have that you as a kid didn’t you were right, “You don’t know what you have until you have lost it.” I went home and did give my parents a hug for me and you and said, “I love you.” I am happy you survived, I am very sorry family members of yours didn’t. thank you for sharing your memories with us, I am sure it was hard.

– Shelby Cordova

History repeats itself,
Does it not?
Time and time again,
Over and over…
Tis unfortunate,
The greatest humanitarians-
The one’s who could lead us out of
OUR misery
Are so often slaughtered by US
Though,
We as a people,
Could stand up – join forces
And together pronounce,
No longer, never again!
It would ring out – everywhere,
For words are contagious,
And actions are deadly.

Victoria Chamberlain

Mr. Nasser,
I thank you so much for coming in to talk about the Holocaust, and sharing with us all of the trials you have experienced in your life. I think the most important thing I was able to take from your lecture was to never give up, and to keep pushing yourself. Also the fact that you were able to forgive. I wrote this poem after you came in to talk, and I think it reflects off of your speech.
Thank you,

Thank you for coming to Oak Creek school. Your speech meant a lot to everyone. You made me think more about how lucky & grateful I am for living here. I think you made everyone think more about family. I’m pretty sure it was hard for you to speak about what you went through. I know one thing, I wouldn’t want to have lived during the holocaust. I’m happy to say I will think more about family. I am also happy and grateful I got to listen to you speak. So thank you again.
– Rocknei Rockwell

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience of the Holocaust. You taught me a whole lot about the holocaust and the Nazi’s. I’m sorry you saw so many of your family members brutally murdered in front of you at such a young age. Thank you again for all you shared and all the knowledge you gave to everyone who heard you speak.
– Robben Baker

Thank you for coming to our school and sharing your knowledge and your experience about the holocaust with us. I am sorry about you losing your loved ones in the holocaust when you were young. Thank you again for coming and speaking here.
– Gabe McGarity

Thank you Mr.Nasser for coming to O.C.S. You told us what really happened in the Holocaust. It is hard to imagine the sadness and horrors of the Holocaust. Thank you for sharing your experience and your advice.
– Carlos Tautimer

Thank you for coming to our school. You told me things that I will never forget. I am sorry for your losses. Your words with help me throughout life to “NEVER GIVE UP.” and ALSO like you said God works in mysterious ways.
– Daniel Mendez

Dear Mr. Nasser,
Your life’s story really touched me and in some parts I was angry at how Hitler has so much hatred I him the he would go and destroy innocent lives, but the there where moments when I was shocked at how they treated you and your family. Other times instead of being angry or shocked I was sad, because I realized that all the pain you had to go and all the strength you must’ve had and then I a, mostly grateful that you survived. You showed me that you can’t give up even when you’ve lost everything and I appreciate that. You have a strong heart, a smart mind, and I hope that you know how much I respect you for being so blissful. It was an honor to meet you and I hope our class gets another opportunity. Once, again, thank you!

– Aspen Keesler

Thank you for coming to our school and speaking. I learned a lot of things and am grateful that you are going around telling everyone your story and everything that happened. You taught me a lot and engouraged me to stand up and not let this ever happen again.
Thank you,

Kyle Rex

Mr. Nasser,
You been through so much
You saw how your family died
But you never gave up on life
I admire you for coming down here
And sharing your experiences with us
I know it’s difficult
But you just go on with life
Those people had no reason
To kill all the Jews
But you know one thing
Life always gets you back
It’s very hard to imagine what hell
Actually felt like but still you
Were one survivor out of twenty-one
family members and we got to know how you went
On through your life
One thing I’m saying
I thank you for not
Seeking Revenge
Because already we have enough
Thank you, so much
For giving us the experience
To hear one of the
Holocaust survivors
It was hard but here you are
Thank you for helping us
Understand the Holocaust

– Daiana Angulo

Thank you for coming to our school and telling us about your story. I don’t know how you did it? It touched me so. I could imagine what you went through.
